( hello )

Helen Wieffering is a reporter on the investigative team of the Associated Press. She uses analysis and open-source techniques to find untold stories, and currently focuses her reporting on oceans, shipping, and fisheries.

Helen's contributions to reporting at the AP have won awards from the National Association of Black Journalists and the Scripps Howard Foundation. Her story on a desert community's fight to save a river was honored by the Society of Environmental Journalists, and her account of police force against protestors at a Trump rally won first place from the Arizona Press Club for statewide breaking news.
